On Saturday, May 30, 2020, at approximately 8:18 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a weapons incident at an Ashton Drive, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

 

It was determined that a driver and passenger of a motor vehicle became involved in a verbal altercation with another individual when the passenger discharged the pellet gun.

 

Officers patrolling the area had been alerted to a vehicle by a Good Samaritan which police stopped and investigated. As a result officers took the passenger into custody without incident.

 

Charged with the following offences is 26-year-old Devin Joseph HOLLIDAY of Norfolk County, Ontario:

 

  • Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition,
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and
  • Fail to comply with probation order (four counts)

 

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date
