While country music and Beyoncé fans are eagerly anticipating the March 29th release of her country album, Act Two, Dolly Parton is dishing on a possible inclusion on the project’s track list.

She recently told Knox News, “I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that… We’ve kind of sent messages back and forth through the years. And she and her mother were like fans, and I was always touched that they were fans, and I always thought she was great.”

If Beyoncé did, in fact, record the song, it would fulfill a wish that Dolly has had for some time. In 2020, she told The Big Issue that of all the covers of “Jolene,” no one had ever had a big hit with it, but she hoped someone like Beyoncé might. And she actually repeated that wish when she appeared on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah in 2022.

Here’s hoping her wish is granted.
