Meet Teddy!

NOTE: TEDDY IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION YET, BUT HELP IS NEEDED FOR HIS CARE. SEE HIS STORY BELOW.

This little boy was found in the city’s compost pile and brought to us for help by a kind man. He was soaking wet, very dirty and starving. We quickly discovered he wasn’t bearing weight on his back leg and was refusing to walk. He had a visit to our vet clinic and after an xray, was found that his tibia/fibula is broken nearer to his knee joint. The vet feels that because he is so young and the injury is not over a growth plate, that he will be able to heal with just splinting and a cast in 2-4 weeks. We won’t know until a further xray after that time whether he has healed and will keep his leg or further treatment will be necessary. He is a fighter and is trying very hard to drag that leg around when he can’t see his foster mom and is looking for her! He is a sweet, cuddly little guy with the most trusting and expressive eyes. He will not be ready for adoption for at least 6 weeks!

His care is not inexpensive and donations thru the Canadahelps link on our website or direct etransfers are most welcome.
