Today’s data release by Southwestern Public Heatlh of active Covid-19 cases in Oxford and Elgin counties and the city of St. Thomas is another tale of gains and losses. Since yesterday, the total number of cases has dropped from 4 to 3. But there’s been a bit of another redistribution of active cases.

Elgin County had 1 reported case on Tuesday, in Dutton/Dunwich, but today the total climbs to 2 with the addition of a new case in Malahide Township.

Oxford County sees the resolution of the 2 cases in East Zorra/Tavistock, leaving the county with just 1 active case remaining in Tillsonburg.

BTW, since the pandemic began, Southwestern Public Health has administered 8,599 tests and as of today, 482 test results are still pending. And since the pandemic began, there has been a total of 83 confirmed cases. 76 have been resolved. There have been a total of 4 deaths (the last one reported on April 22) and there are 3 current active cases.

The first active case was reported three months ago today on March 24.
