Today’s data release from Southwestern Public Health, shows no change in the number of active cases of Covid-19 in Oxford and Elgin counties or the city of St. Thomas since last Friday. The total number of cases remains at 7. Oxford County still has 5 of those cases, with 3 in East Zorra-Tavistock and 1 each in Tillsonburg and Woodstock. Elgin County has a total of 2 active cases, with 1 each in Dutton/Dunwich and St. Thomas.

Along with the data release, Southwestern Public Health has issued a news release welcoming beach-goers and reminding them to keep safety in mind to contain the spread of the virus. Dr. Joyce Lock, Medical Officer of Health for Southwestern Public Health offers these three tips: 1) limit your time at the beach to prevent overcrowding; 2) wash or sanitize your hands “really frequently;” and 3) keep space between your group of friends or family and other groups on the beach. Dr. Lock reminds beach-goers not to share toys or snacks with others.
