There’s been a nice drop, a 33% drop, in active Covid-19 cases, according to today’s data release from Southwestern Public Health, which covers Oxford County, Elgin County and the city of St. Thomas. The total number of cases has dropped from 9 to 6.

In Oxford County, both Ingersoll and Woodstock saw 1 resolved case in their municipalities, lowering their totals from 2 to 1 active case each. Tillsonburg still has 2 cases.

In Elgin County, a resolved case in St. Thomas has dropped from 3 to 2. The only cases in Elgin County are those in St. Thomas.

In Tillsonburg, the Business Inprovement Area (BIA) has presented the town council with a request to permit the use of “on-street and on-sidewalk seating and outdoor patios” to help in the recovery of the downtown hospitality sector. Council is expected to come up with a report on the matter. The BIA and Town Council are hoping to have a plan in place for the time when the province of Ontario re-opens restaurants.
