On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at approximately 4:14 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police, Norfolk County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call for a break and enter in progress at a Concession 13, Townsend, Norfolk County address.

 

It was determined that in the early morning hours, an unknown, unclothed, individual attended the address and forcibly gained entry into the residence ultimately waking the occupants of the home. Once inside, the person was confronted by the homeowners who then fled from the area on foot.

 

Officers arrived on scene and began to search the immediate area. A second call was placed to the OPP by a homeowner after the same person attempted to enter their residence on Highway 24. Officer’s attended and located the person and took them into custody without incident.

 

As a result, police charged 35-year-old Herman TEICHROEB of Norfolk County, Ontario with the following offences:

 

  • Break and enter
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Trespassing at night (3 counts)

 

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.
