Norfolk OPP are investigating a suspected distraction theft at an Ingersoll jewelry store.
According to police, 8 suspects, 2 men and 6 women, entered Lesser Brother’s Jewelers on Thames Street around 11 Saturday morning.
Sometime in the following 20 minutes, a locked display was entered and items were taken. It’s believed the group acted to distract the employee while another suspect entered the display.
The male suspects are described as in their 30’s, with dark hair and dark facial hair, wearing dark bomber jackets and jeans. The 6 women were covered in full length dresses with head scarves.
The cost of the theft is estimated at $99,000.
The suspects were seen getting into a large black SUV. Any information should be directed to Oxford OPP.
