Friday's Games (All Times Eastern)

2018 MEMORIAL CUP SEMI-FINAL AT REGINA (1)

-Regina 4  Hamilton 2
Sam Steel scored the winner in the third period as the host Regina Pats beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-2 in the Memorial Cup semifinal.  Regina moves on to face the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Sunday night for the Canadian major junior championship.  Regina will try to become the second straight tournament host to capture the Memorial Cup after the Windsor Spitfires did it last year.
The Humboldt Broncos were honoured with a standing ovation before the game.  Humboldt team president Kevin Garinger along with the parents of late Broncos athletic therapist Dayna Brons performed the ceremonial puck drop.

AHL PLAYOFFS - CONFERENCE FINALS (2)

Eastern Conference (1)
-Toronto 3  Lehigh Valley 1
(Toronto wins best-of-seven series 4-0)
Forward Andreas Johnsson returned at the right time for the Toronto Marlies.  Johnsson scored twice as the Marlies beat the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 3-1 to advance to the Calder Cup final.  Toronto is rolling into the American Hockey League championship round having won nine straight post-season games since Johnsson was loaned to the Marlies by the Maple Leafs on April 27 after the parent club was knocked out of the NHL playoffs by the Boston Bruins.  The Marlies swept Lehigh in four straight to capture the Eastern Conference title for the first time since 2012.

Western Conference (1)
-Rockford 3  Texas 1
(Texas leads best-of-seven series 3-2)
---

NBA PLAYOFFS - Third Round (1)

-Cleveland 109  Boston 99
(Series tied 3-3)
LeBron James still has a shot at making his eighth straight N-B-A Finals.  James scored 46 points and preserved his reign atop the Eastern Conference for at least one more game as the Cleveland Cavaliers shook off losing all-star Kevin Love with a head injury and beat Boston 109-99 to force a decisive Game 7 to this back-and-forth series.

The Mariners made the first big deal of the season acquiring outfielder Denard Span and right-handed reliever Alex Colome (CALL'-um-ay) from the Rays for two minor league right-handers Andrew Moore and Tommy Romero.  Span was hitting .238 with four home runs and 28 R-B-Is in 48 games for the Rays.  His ability to play multiple spots in the outfield is the big benefit.
