An announcement from the Provincial Government yesterday (Tuesday) is music to Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey’s ears. Premier Doug Ford said that his government is stopping a wind farm in Prince Edward County. Comiskey is hoping this is a sign that the new Premier is listening to lower tiers of government. The government said that although the nine tower project had been approved during the election campaign, he said citizens did not want it. Comiskey is waiting to hear if there is a mention of landfills and how they are dealt with in the throne speech on Thursday. During the campaign Comiskey received a letter from Ford saying that he supported Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman's Private Member's Bill that would give municipalities the power to say yes or no to a landfill.
