Three young men from London are lucky to be alive after their sailboat overturned in Lake Huron, near Bayfield on Sunday.

The OPP's Marine Unit received a 911 call shortly after 11:00 Sunday morning.

The small boat was overcome by strong winds and heavy wave activity.  It's a good thing the unit was only 10 minutes away from the sailboat. The three men, aged 19 to 24, were not wearing life jackets and there was no safety equipment onboard.

The men were treated for hypothermia and exhaustion and released after a boating safety lesson
