A lawsuit against Woodstock police will proceed. That's the ruling from the Ontario Court of Appeals in relation to a drug arrest 5 years ago.

In February of 2014, Everton Brown of London was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine and resisting arrest. He is claiming he suffered hardships from the arrest and is seeking $2 million.

In October of 2015, the charges were withdrawn and then a civil action was launched in May of 2016. But initially, the civil action was contested because it came two years after the original arrest but the O.A.C. Ruling says the appeal and the lawsuit, which also includes 4 officers can proceed.
