A flood watch has been issued by the Essex Region Conservation Authority in southwestern Ontario.

It warns of the possibility of shoreline erosion and flooding due to predicted strong winds, with potential gusts up to 70 kilometres an hour.

The watch is in effect for the east limit of the Town of Essex, the Town of Kingsville, western portions of Leamington west of Point Pelee National Park and the west side of Pelee Island.

The watch is in effect until 9 a-m today.
