The province's Special Investigation Unit has been called in after an accident in Brant County early this morning.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, an officer was attempting to stop a car on Burtch Road just before 7 this morning. The driver refused to comply and his vehicle entered the intersection at Cockshutt Road where it was struck by another vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries and the accident investigation continues.
The SIU is called in to investigate whenever someone suffers serious injuries after being involved with the police.
