A Grand Bend man was injured when he was struck by a car and pinned against a Canada Post building.

Lambton OPP say 72 year old Glen Pripham was retrieving his mail from the outside postal boxes this (Wednesday) morning at the same time a car turned into the parking lot.

Constable John Reurink says while being parked, the car lurched forward, jumped the curb and pinned Pripham against the wall.

He was taken to hospital in Exeter with leg injuries.

The postal boxes and car sustained extensive damage and it appears the driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.
