Army Worms in Oxford County

Print PDF

Army Worms have arrived in Oxford County.  The small bugs, that look like worms attack corn, forage, wheat and cereal fields.

Zorra Township councillor and farmer Gord McKay discovered a field had been infested with the voracious little creatures

McKay says the threshold is when 50 percent of plants are showing damage, or there are more than five or six armyworm larvae per square foot.
