On May 24th, the Woodstock Police Service Criminal Intelligence/Drug Enforcement Unit was conducting an investigation into the trafficking of oxycodone within the city of Woodstock. As a result, two people were subsequently arrested and charged.

Isabelle DUFRESNE, age 44, of Woodstock, has been charged with Conspiracy to Traffick in a Controlled Substance, and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.

John WARD, age 19, of Hamilton, has been charged with Conspiracy to Traffick in a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Woodstock Police Chief Rod Freeman says, "This is just one more successful enforcement effort conducted by the members of our Drug Unit to ‘disrupt and displace’ the illegal drug trade in our city. Our goal is to drive the drug trade so far underground that is does not negatively impact on the good quality of life for our community’s law abiding citizens and our children are safe from the negative influence of that high risk life style."

This most recent investigation and arrests alone resulted in the seizure of Oxycodone with an estimated street value of $6,000.00.
