Two charged following Brantford shooting

The provinces Special Investigations Unit is now handling a shooting incident that occurred in Brantford on Tuesday afternoon.

As officers approached a vehicle on a parking lot at 325 West Street, a man drove the car at a policeman, who fired his gun at the vehicle.  The man drove to a nearby business and then fled on foot into a wooded area.  A short time later after a brief foot pursit, the man was taken into custody without incident on a parking lot located at Charing Cross and West Streets.  aAfemale passenger suffered injuries as the vehicle attempted to flee the parking lot.

Brantford police executed a search warrant at the man and woman's residence on Charing Cross Street near West Street.

As a result, 25 year old Richard Arthur Bomberry, has been charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine; possession of marijuana; possession of stolen property; dangerous driving; flight from police; failing to remain at the scene of an accident; criminal negligence causing bodily harm and two counts of breaching a probation order.

22 year old Hillary Robertson is charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine; possession of marijuana and disobeying a court order.
