Old man winter is about to toss another one our way.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for most of southern and central Ontario, stretching from Windsor to Ottawa and Niagara Falls to Orillia.
A low pressure system is expected to develop over the American Plains on Thursday and track eastward across southern Ontario on Friday.
The leading edge of snow associated with this low pressure system should move into the extreme southwestern regions Thursday evening and reach the Quebec border by Friday morning.
Current indications suggest that snowfall amounts in the 10 to 15 cm range are likely within an 18 to 24 hour period. Regions just north of Lakes Erie and Ontario will likely see rain at times mixed with the snow and end up with less snowfall.
In addition, for regions along and south of a line from southern Lake Huron to Kingston; brief periods of freezing rain are possible Thursday evening and overnight into Friday morning.
