South West Oxford Council is taking their time filling the vacant position of Fire Chief and Manager of Emergency Services. Not only is the Township looking at the position itself, they are looking at other alliances with neighbouring municipalities to see what best suits their needs. For Mayor David Mayberry, the most recent person to chat with Council about the job and cooperation was a neighbour to the South.
Mayberry says Council has not set a firm date to have the position filled. In the interim Rick Smith, the Tillsonburg Fire Chief and former fire boss in South West Oxford is handling the duties on a temporary basis
