The Ontario Provincial Police, County of Brant officers were called to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist on the Cockshutt Road that occurred at 6:20 P.M. on the 26th of January 2012. A 1999 Volkswagen was travelling north bound on Cockshutt Road and struck a 60 year old from the City of Brantford riding his bicycle. Alan DERASP succumbed to his injuries was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner G. Quinn.
The Cockshutt Road was closed between River Road and Brant County Road 18 for approximately six hours for the investigation. The West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is currently assisting the County of Brant OPP with the investigation.
