All of the major political leaders are sticking around vote-rich southern Ontario again today with the election just a week away.

Dalton McGuinty will be at a Liberal campaign event in Brampton in the morning, then head to Toronto for a campaign announcement before finishing the day in Kawartha Lakes.

Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak starts his day in Ajax, then goes before the Canadian Club and Empire Club in Toronto.

Andrea Horwath takes the New Democrat campaign to London, Sarnia and then Windsor.

Premier McGuinty continues to stress the uncertain economy.

He says the Liberals are taking steps to deal with the worsening global economy.

The Liberal leader promises to roll out a tax credit for home renovations 15 months early in an effort to stir up new jobs.

Throughout the campaign, McGuinty has played up his government's success in pulling through a rough recession.

He says his sensible fiscal approach will ensure the province stays on track. (The Canadian Press)

Tory Leader Tim Hudak took aim at Premier McGuinty yesterday, calling a promise to roll out a home-renovation tax credit earlier than expected Liberal scrambling.

Hudak also points to the Liberal plan to scrap construction on a gas-fired power plant west of Toronto.

The Liberals pulled the plug on the Mississauga gas plant just days before the start of the election campaign.

Hudak says it shows McGuinty is panicked and on the run.

Leader Andrea Horwath says a vote for her New Democrats isn't a vote for the Progressive Conservatives.

There's been talk Horwath's rise in popularity could take votes from the Liberals and lead to a Tory government.

Horwath calls that Liberal scare tactics.

Public opinion polls suggest that it's a dead heat between the Liberals and Tories with election less than a week away. (The Canadian Press)
