Original charges have been upgraded and additional charges laid in connection with an accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 25th at the intersection of Calton Line and Springfield Road, in Malahide Township, when two pickup trucks collided.
24 year old Craig Duncan Chittenden, of Malahide, one of the drivers, died in hospital of injuries suffered in that crash two days later . A passenger in the other pickup was rushed to London hospital in serious condition.
A charge of impaired driving causing bodily harm against 23 year old Peter Friesen, of Malahide, has been upgraded to impaired driving causing death. as well, police have laid two additional charges: criminal negligence causing death and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Friesen remains in custody for a show cause hearing Friday.
