WEEK 188 HUSKY HERO - Bass Groeneweg

This week's Husky Hero of the week is Bass Groeneweg of St.Thomas. Bass is a retired gentleman who spends his days helping people, whether taking them out for a coffee, for a ride to the country, helping with family court matters or to a Doctor's appointment. He takes them to Christmas Care, out for groceries. He's always ready to lend a listening ear and to assist wherever he's needed. He can often be found helping a family to repair a fence or a broken appliance. There's no problem too big or too small.

For all that you do Bass, you are the Husky.

WEEK 184 HUSKY HERO - Mr. Pruss' Grade 8 class

This week's Husky Hero, is actually a whole bunch of Husky Heroes, Mr. Pruss' Grade 8 class at St.Anne's Catholic School in St.Thomas. The students all got together to help make one of their classmates birthdays a little extra special. One of the students struggles with some learning disabilities, however the student is very skilled with a computer The students classmates have always been very supportive and for this student's 14th birthday the entire class took a collection, pooled their own money and raised over $200 and presented their classmate with some fantastic gifts he can use when working with his computer. With a lot of discussion on bullying today, it is great see these young people do something so thoughtful for someone else.

Congratulations to Mr. Pruss' Grade 8 class at St.Annes Catholic Scholl in St.Thomas, you are the Husky Heroes of the week!
