Each week Country 107.3 and Husky Travel Centre are teaming up to recognize someone who has given back to the community. If you know of someone who deserves to be honoured as the ‘Husky Hero of the week’ with a $25 Gift certificate from the Husky Travel Centre, please click here to submit your story.

WEEK 194 HUSKY HERO - Denise Lapointe

This week's Husky Hero is Denise Lapointe of London. Denise is always helping someone. She gives rides to her friends to doctor and chiropractic appointments, stores, and the food bank as needed. In the case of an emergency she drops everything to help out. She helps everyone she can, though she has limited mobility. Her car is a golden chariot for many people. She also volunteers at a library and volunteers at her church and helps deliver food baskets once a month.

WEEK 193 HUSKY HERO - Clair Whyte

This week's Husky Hero is Clair Whyte of Sarnia. Clair decided in early 2017 to arrange a reunion for former military members who served with The Royal Canadian Regiment. The reunion took place in early August with stops at Wolosley Barracks in London for Memorial Service, tour of the museum and spirit de corps followed with a Banquet Victory Branch Royal Canadian Legion.

WEEK 192 HUSKY HERO - Dad Club London

This week's Husky Hero is from all over the region. You see, Dad Club London is a group of Dads with over 3200 members, who have pledged to raise $24,500 that would be donated this fall to the ongoing efforts to equip every high school in London with AED's. Many of the members have set up donation boxes in their businesses, and many others have developed more ways people can help. The Dad Club London has already done so much for many families in need, this AED Fundraiser is their biggest fundraising effort to date.

WEEK 191 HUSKY HERO - Denise Lapointe

This week's Husky Hero of the week is Denise Lapointe. Denise is a very giving person. She often gives rides to friends who need it for appointments and trips to the store. She volunteers at the library and at the church and helps deliver food baskets when needed. All this despite her own limited mobility.

WEEK 190 HUSKY HERO - Richard & Anne Walker

This week's Husky Heroes are Richard & Anne Walker of Mount Brydges. On July 6th 2017 Richard or Mick as his friends like to call him made is 1000th donation to the Canadian Blood Services, making him only the 7th person to do so! His wife Anne is at 991 donations and is on pace to make her 1000th donation later this summer, and would make her the 1st woman to reach the 1000th mark.

Congratulations to both of you on saving countless lives! You truly are Husky Heroes of the week!
